Aluminum sulfate (chemical formula Al2 (SO4) 3, formula 342.15), white crystalline powder of orthorhombic system, density 1.69g/mL (25 C) [1]. In papermaking industry, it is used as a precipitant for rosin and wax emulsion, and can be used as flocculant in water treatment. It can also be used as an internal retaining agent for foam extinguishers, making alum, aluminum and white raw materials, oil decolorizing, deodorant, raw materials for certain medicines, etc. It can also make artificial gemstones and advanced ammonium alum.
Aluminum sulphate, which accounts for about 50% of the total production, is used for papermaking as the first major purpose and for flocculants in drinking water, industrial water and industrial wastewater treatment, accounting for about 40% of the total production of aluminum sulphate.
