Product Description
Zinc stearate is a fine white powder. Molecular zn (c17h35coo) 2, molecular structure rcoznocor (r is mixed alkyl in industrial stearic acid), combustible, specific gravity 1.095, spontaneous combustion point 900℃, density 1.095 ℃, melting point 130℃, spontaneous combustion point greasy. Insoluble in water, ethanol and ether, soluble in organic solvents and acids such as hot ethanol, turpentine, benzene, etc.
It is heated and dissolved in an organic solvent and cooled to form a gel. In the presence of strong acid, zinc stearate is decomposed into stearic acid and corresponding zinc salts. With lubrication, moisture absorption, non-toxic, no stimulation, no pollution, no risk characteristics.
Zinc stearate and calcium stearate can be separated by dissolving zinc stearate in benzene, in which calcium stearate is insoluble. Zinc stearate is insoluble in polar solvents but soluble in chlorinated hydrocarbon aromatic compounds when heated. In its main applications, the plastics and rubber industries are used as release agents and lubricants due to their good compatibility.
