The density of thiourea is 1.41. The melting point is 176 ~ 178 ℃. Thiourea can be decomposed when it is heated. It is soluble in water, and it is soluble in ethanol when it is heated. It is soluble in ether slightly. It is
used for making thiourea dioxide, drugs, dyes, resins, plastic powder and other raw materials, as well as rubber accelerator and agents of metal mineral flotation, etc.
Thiourea is formed by the chemical reactions of sulfur calcium hydride and Calcium cyanide. Sulfur calcium hydride is formed by hydrogen sulfide and lime slurry.
