Japanese export prices of vinyl chloride resins, which are used in construction materials and daily necessities, have turned upward, according to the Nikkei business Daily. From the shipping price of Japan's large PVC enterprises in June, the export to China increased by 30 ~ 40 DOLLARS (about 6%) compared with last month, reaching 690 ~ 700 dollars per ton. Export prices to China rose after a four-month interval. Expectations of a recovery in demand have led to higher prices.
In China, expectations are strong for more infrastructure-related investment in housing and roads. There is a view that the demand for PVC, which is more used in plumbing and building materials, will increase, so the transaction price of PVC in China will rise.
Japan's big PVC companies said demand was outgrowing supply in China because of "a trend towards further tightening of environmental restrictions on small-scale plants" that feed coal. The June shipment price for India, the largest importer, is $760 - $780 per ton.
