Aluminum sulfate (chemical formula: Al2 (SO4) 3) is a widely used industrial reagent, which is usually confused with alum. Aluminum sulfate is usually used as a flocculant in the purification of drinking water and sewage treatment equipment, as well as in the paper industry. Aluminum sulfate hardly exists in the form of anhydrous salt under natural conditions. It forms a series of hydrates, of which aluminium sulfate hexadecahydrate is the most common. Aluminum sulfate is also an effective mollusk pesticide that kills Spanish slugs.

1. In paper industry, it is used as paper sizing agent to enhance the water resistance and impermeability of paper.

2. When dissolved in water, fine particles and natural colloidal particles in water can be coagulated into large flocs, which can be removed from water, so they 

can be used as coagulants for water supply and wastewater.

3. Used as turbid water purifier, as precipitator, fixing agent, filler, etc. It is used as raw material (astringent) of sweat-suppressing cosmetics in cosmetics.

4. in the fire industry, foam extinguishing agent is composed of baking soda and baking soda.

5. Analytical reagents, mordants, tanning agents, oil decolorizers, wood preservatives;

6. Stabilizers for pasteurization of albumin (including liquid or frozen whole egg, protein or yolk);

7. It can be used as raw material for making artificial gemstones, high-grade ammonium alum and other aluminates.

8. In the fuel industry, chrome yellow and chrome Lake dyes are used as precipitants, fixing and filling agents at the same time.
