Aluminum sulfate (chemical formula Al2 (SO4) 3), white oblique crystal system crystal powder, density 1.69g/mL (25 ℃). It can be used as precipitating agent of rosin and wax emulsion in papermaking industry, as flocculant in water treatment, as internal retention agent for foam fire extinguisher, as raw material for making alum, aluminum white, oil decolorization, deodorizing agent, raw material for certain drugs, etc. It can also make synthetic gemstones and high-grade ammonium alum.
