Sodium bromide

Sodium bromide is mainly used in the photosensitive industry to prepare film photosensitive liquid; in medicine to produce diuretics and sedatives; in perfume industry to produce synthetic perfume; in printing and dyeing industry to use bromide.

1. Properties: Colorless cubic crystals or white granular powders. It is odorless, salty and bitter. 

2. Density (g/mL, 25 C): 3.203.

 3. Melting point (unitary C): 755.

4. Boiling point (unitary C, atmospheric pressure): 1390 C. 

5. Refractive index: 1.6412. 

6. Flash point (unitary C): 1390. 

7. Solubility: It is soluble in water (121g/100ml water at 100 C), and the water solution is neutral. It is slightly soluble in alcohol. Anhydrous sodium bromide crystallizes in the solution at 51 C, and dihydrates are formed below 51 C. 905g/L (20C time)
